A presentation ceremony was held at Parliament House on November 1st to recognise New Zealand winners of the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) prizes and medals. The AMC is run by the Australian Mathematics Trust under the Trusteeship of the University of Canberra. Since its inception in 1976, the participation numbers have increased to around 600,000, with around 100,000 being from outside Australia, making it the world's largest mathematics competition.   Read more...
AIC students once again achieved excellent results in the annual China Bridge speech competition in Auckland. In the regional competition, AIC students won 11 awards over three categories: Secondary, Semi-Native and International Student. Chaeri Yoon won the Secondary Category and went on to represent Auckland at the national competition in Christchurch on Saturday May 26th. Chaeri won the national competition and will represent New Zealand in Beijing. She wins an all-expenses paid trip to participate in the final competition in November this year.
