AIC has three intakes for the Preparation Year Programme for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, Year 11, in 2018 these are: January 24th, July 26th & October 15th. There is one intake only for IB Diploma programme students, Year 12, which is July 26th. By following a northern hemisphere school timetable AIC students have more choices when applying to universities all over the world.
Year 12 Entry:
Due to a high demand for Year 12 entry, there are only a limited number of places available each year for Year 12. Applicants are therefore advised to apply for the Year 11 programme in order to secure a place later on in Year 12. Pleaset note, subject selection priorty is always given to internal Year 11 students transferring into Year 12.
Direct Entry Year 12 Mathematics Policy:
Due to the variability of prior learning in Mathematics, direct entry Year 12 students must commence in a standard / higher (SL/HL) combined Mathematics class for their IB Diploma programme. All combined SL/HL Mathematics students will be tested at the end of term 2 to assess their suitability for higher level. Therefore direct entry Year 12 students must choose 3 HL subjects, not including Mathematics.
Direct Entry to Year 12 Closing Date:
Closing Date: 1 March. Late applications after this date will be waitlisted.
Open Days:
Every day is an open day at AIC. If you would like to have a tour of the school please phone to make an appointment. We warmly encourage prospective students to book in to be an AIC student for a day. We will arrange a buddy in your Year group to spend the day with you while you attend AIC classes and experience the special character of AIC.
